Jasper and Mackenzie are two tiny Chihuahuas who were born without front legs. Born on January 2nd, they were only 6 weeks old when they came to the Just a Touch Rescue. Jasper weighed in at exactly one pound, while his sister, Mackenzie weighed only 12 ounces.
Mackenzie’s back legs were weak, and she used her nose and chin to pull herself around. However, after only a few days of physical therapy, this tiny girl was standing up on her back legs, and actually taking tiny steps. Mackenzie also has an inguinal hernia. She will need to have that repaired once she is bigger and stronger. Mackenzie loves to snuggle and give kisses and play with her toy lizard.
Jasper is a happy, lively little boy that loves to pounce on his sister (and his foster mom). He is curious about everything, and lives to play. His favorite toys are his puppy kong and his crinkly ring (although they are almost as big as he is).
Please help us help Jasper and Mackenzie! They both will need extensive physical therapy and wheel chairs to help them get around!”
